Massasoit Wins in Overtime Thriller, 105–98 Over Maine-Augusta
A strong overtime surge powered Massasoit Community College (1–1, 0–1) to a thrilling 105–98 road win over the University of Maine–Augusta (1–1, 1–0) on Sunday. The Warriors outscored the Moose 17–10 in the extra frame to secure their first win of the season after a tightly contested 40 minutes of regulation.
Massasoit's balanced attack was led by Jahssa Estrela, who poured in a game-high 26 points, adding 8 assists while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Christian Isom dominated inside, posting a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Omari Brooks chipped in 20 points and 3 steals. Eliase Feagins added 11 points and 9 rebounds, and Liedson Mendes contributed 11 points and 9 boards of his own as five Warriors reached double figures.
Despite trailing 45–43 at halftime, Massasoit found their rhythm late, using key defensive stops and timely three-point shooting to stay within striking distance. In overtime, the Warriors' energy and composure proved decisive, outworking Maine-Augusta 17–10 to close out the win.
Maine-Augusta was led by Khalif Bettis, who delivered a huge night with 31 points and 9 rebounds on 13-of-17 shooting. Daniel Tewogbade (13 points) and Rocco Chang (12 points) provided solid support, but the Moose couldn't match Massasoit's pace in the extra period.
Massasoit shot 46.1% from the field and connected on 11 threes, while converting 21 of 30 from the line. The Warriors also forced 23 turnovers and outscored Maine-Augusta 17–10 in overtime to seal the victory.
