Gymnasium
The Massasoit Gymnasium is a premier multi-purpose athletic facility and the home of Massasoit’s men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball programs. Spanning over 16,000 square feet, the gym serves as a central hub for intercollegiate athletics, campus recreation, and community events.
At the heart of the facility is the Julie Mulvey Court, named in honor of the longtime Athletic Director and coach whose impact helped shape the college’s athletic tradition. The gym is uniquely designed to maximize usage, featuring three cross-court basketball courts in addition to a full-length main court, allowing for simultaneous practices, games, and training sessions.
The facility easily converts to host three full volleyball courts, supporting both competitive matches and intramural play. Its versatility extends beyond hardwood sports, as the gym is also equipped to accommodate indoor baseball, softball, and soccer practices, complete with two full batting cages located on opposite ends of the court.
Massasoit Gymnasium has established itself as a respected venue throughout the region, hosting major events such as the MCCAC State Tournaments, MIAA Girls Basketball South Sectionals, and numerous AAU basketball tournaments. Its adaptability and capacity make it an ideal location for high-level competition and large-scale athletic events.
Beyond varsity athletics, the gym remains open to students, faculty, and staff, reinforcing its role as a vital space for fitness, recreation, and community engagement.
