BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit CC men's soccer team announced its 18-game regular season schedule for the 2015 campaign. The season docket features 11 league games, featuring matches against two NJCAA National Tournament qualifiers from the 2014 season.
Head coach Rui Estrela, entering his 10th season at the helm of the Warrior soccer program, has put together a challenging non-conference slate for the upcoming year. Massasoit will face the three other Northeast District qualifiers from last season, in Mercer County, Monroe College and Monroe CC. Massasoit was the fourth representative at the Northeast District Tournament in 2014.
In addition to those three colleges, the Warriors will take on Essex County, New Hampshire Technical Institute and JV squads from AIC and Williams College. Excluding the JV programs, the non-league teams that Massasoit will take on compiled an overall record of 60-19-7, with Monroe College advancing the NJCAA National Tournament Finals.
Massasoit will also play 11 games against Region XXI competition, including a pair of matches against divisional foes Dean College and CCRI. The Warriors defeated CCRI in penalty kicks last season to claim the Region XXI Championship.
The Warriors will also face Bunker Hill, an NJCAA Division III National Tournament qualifier a season ago.
Other regional opponents include: MassBay, Benjamin Franklin, Holyoke, Springfield Tech, Roxbury and Bristol.
Massasoit is coming off a 14-5-1 record from last season and finished runners up in the Northeast District Tournament.
